This page is for the BeyondWords mobile app (the name shown on Google Play). It explains how to request that your BeyondWords account and associated data be deleted.
How to request deletion
Use one of the two methods below. Deletion cannot be undone.
In the BeyondWords app (fastest)
- Open the BeyondWords app and sign in.
- Open the menu (top right) and tap Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm. Your account and practice data are removed immediately.
By email (if you uninstalled the app or cannot sign in)
Send an email to
chipzh@outlook.com that includes:
- The subject line: Delete my BeyondWords account.
- The email address or sign-in method you used (Google, Apple, or email).
- We verify the request and complete deletion within 30 days.
Data we delete
When your request is completed, we delete or anonymize:
- Account information: username, email address, display name, and sign-in bindings (including Google or Apple).
- Learning data tied to your account: saved phrases, practice history, writing attempts, AI feedback, pack enrollments, photo scans used to add phrases, and words you marked as known.
- Links between a guest session and a signed-in account.
Data we keep
The following is not deleted, or is kept only for a limited time:
- Shared practice content used by many learners (example sentences, scene images, and the phrase catalog). This is not your personal writing and is not tied to your account after deletion.
- Limited server and security logs (such as IP address and request time) may be kept for up to 30 days to prevent abuse, then discarded in ordinary log rotation.
- Records we are required to keep by law (for example, if a dispute or legal request is outstanding). We do not keep these in the ordinary case.
- Product analytics already sent to our analytics provider may be retained in aggregated or identifier-hashed form according to that provider's retention. They are no longer tied to a usable BeyondWords account.
- Text sent to third-party AI providers to run a practice feature is processed only to deliver that feature. After deletion we no longer keep that text as part of your account.
How long it takes
In-app deletion takes effect immediately. Email requests are completed within 30 days of a verifiable request.
